Photo Journal: Beavers Bend State Park (Oklahoma)
Last November we made a weekend trip to Beavers Bend State Park and camped at Stevens Gap — Bluejay tent site #15. In the early morning, we had tea and oatmeal before setting off for the Heritage Center to sign in for our “strenuous” hike. We hiked a difficult trail, starting at Cedar Bluff Trail and parking area and connected with the Skyline Trail, across Bee Creek, and along the spillway along the road back to the car. All in all, it was about 9.3 miles with over 2,000 feet of elevation gain. Beautiful views, a lot of terrain changes, and a great spot for Fall colors.
