Wildernew® Outdoor Therapy helps people find hope and healing.
The wilderness is a place of balance, healing, and wholeness. It is a place where change happens as trials birth new life and hope. Clarity is found as we push ourselves out of our comfort zones. Paths are forged as we push ourselves physically, mentally, and spiritually.
A Personalized Approach
Every individual is different so every approach is different. Our approaches include adventure therapy, mindfulness, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), existential, family-based therapy and attachment theory while emphasizing the interpersonal process (the therapeutic relationship as a healing agent), and meeting the best of industry standards.
Partnering with Nature
Living in a culture that is always on means we can find it difficult to unplug, rest, and breathe. Spending time in nature has been shown to help bring balance and well-being back into our noisy lives. Some proven benefits include: improved mood, memory, ability to problem solve, health and immunity along with decreased stress and anxiety. Our outdoor sessions include time to engage both physically and mentally as we walk and talk through issues at local parks and hiking trails.
Who We Serve
We serve adults and adolescents and their families who may be struggling with depression, anxiety, eating disorders, life transitions, relationship struggles and spiritual issues. Sessions are ideal for:
Individuals who struggle with anxiety and fear which inhibits action and pursuing their dreams
Individuals struggling with identity and worth
Students
Outdoor adventurers
Busy professionals who struggle to find balance
People who struggle with body image or disordered eating
Families seeking to increase connection and play through the outdoors
Individuals who are transitioning home from a treatment center
Those wanting an experiential approach or help but haven't found traditional office sessions to be helpful.
